A letter from our founder
Dear friend,
My name is Olena Klepko. I founded Dyvooo in Kyiv in 2012. It started as an idea close to my heart, and I decided to share it with the world.
To me, wonder lives in simple things. In a picture you seem to know from childhood, yet suddenly see anew. In a small sign that arrives exactly when you need it. That is what Dyvooo is about: seeing more than meets the eye. René Magritte, the great Belgian painter, built his art on that idea. We answer it with bright colours, a smile and a sign.
Our beasts speak the language of naive art, one of the most honest ways of painting there is. It has been loved for a century: Maria Prymachenko in Ukraine, Niko Pirosmani in Georgia, Henri Rousseau in France. Bright, flat, joyful and full of meaning. I grew up with this art around me, and Dyvooo carries it forward: an old tradition, retold for today.
Every beast is born the same way. We choose it by the season, its energy and its symbol. We look at what it has meant in old stories, in Ukraine and around the world. Then our small team, led by artist Mariam Nayem, draws it by hand and adds the details that make its sign stronger. The deer brings new beginnings. The weasel keeps your secrets. The wolf carries moonlit wisdom. The raccoon never stops creating. We choose only images with warm, kind energy, because each print is a mood, a feeling or a story that doesn't always need words.
What I love most is watching people meet our beasts. Someone walks in wearing a Dyvooo tee, and the mood in the room changes: faces soften, people smile and ask, "What does yours mean?" Wonder brings joy, happiness and a lot of fun, and it is catching.
Over the years, Dyvooo has travelled far: to the United States, Japan and Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and Austria, to Argentina and Chile, and of course all across Ukraine. It was named one of the most successful projects at Pitti Immagine in Florence, shown at MICAM in Milan, and featured in Vogue Ukraine, Jetsetter and Donna Moderna. Wherever it goes, people find something of their own in it.
So we make many different things: tees, sweatshirts and hoodies, mugs, pillows, prints and phone cases. Mix beasts and colours to build a style that is entirely yours.
A Dyvooo beast is also the warmest gift I know. It is not just a thing, it is a wish: courage, a new beginning, abundance, love. Give wonder. Give joy. Give a little happiness.
